The new biorefinery will produce sustainable fuels from tall oil, enhancing resource efficiency and climate benefits. It supports Sweden's and the EU's climate goals by boosting domestic biofuel production.

The projects aim to reduce the refinery's carbon footprint, producing renewable diesel, sustainable aviation fuel, and green hydrogen, with a total investment of €650 million.

Two large-scale projects at Sines refinery will reduce carbon footprint: a 270 ktpa biofuels unit and a 100 MW green hydrogen plant, both operational by 2025, with a total investment of €650m.

Contracts include a 24-month project for a pre-treatment plant in Poland to produce renewable diesel, contributing to EU decarbonization plans. MAIRE acts as project enabler and technology integrator.

The Management Board approved a PLN 600m HVO unit with 300k tonnes annual capacity, set to complete by mid-2024, pending Supervisory Board approval. Agreement signed with Technik Polska.
