About TotalEnergies

TotalEnergies SE is a French multinational integrated energy company and one of the world’s largest oil and gas producers. Headquartered in France, it operates across the entire energy value chain, including exploration and production, LNG, refining, fuels, lubricants, and electricity. Formerly known as Total, the company adopted the name TotalEnergies in 2021 to reflect a broader portfolio that includes growing activities in low‑carbon energy.

In the chemical industry, TotalEnergies’ Refining & Chemicals segment manufactures base petrochemicals (such as ethylene, propylene, aromatics, styrene, and butadiene) and a wide range of polymers (including polyethylene, polypropylene, and polystyrene). Its assets include integrated refining‑petrochemical platforms in Europe and joint ventures globally, such as Baystar on the U.S. Gulf Coast, as well as partnerships in the Middle East. The company is active in polymer circularity and lower‑carbon feedstocks, developing mechanical and chemical recycling routes and bio‑based solutions. Through TotalEnergies Corbion, a 50/50 joint venture with Corbion, it produces polylactic acid (PLA) bioplastics. Its materials serve packaging, automotive, construction, and consumer goods markets.
