SAF and renewable fuels
LanzaTech’s FLITE will build Europe’s first commercial ATJ SAF plant at North Sea Port, Ghent. LanzaTech also reported Q1 2026 results and a 24 K MTA bagasse‑to‑ethanol plant in India, plus the Dragon II SAF site. Eni and MSC Cruises ran Enilive HVO ~2,000 hours with certified NOx, particulate and lifecycle GHG data. Perpetual Next named Clarksons preferred broker for maritime biomethanol supply.
Biomethane and Bio‑LNG
EnviTec Biogas reported higher 2025 output but a softer 2026 outlook after Germany ended double GHG‑quota counting. The company expanded downstream via a Bio‑LNG filling station in Holdorf. MOL will add a biomethane unit at Szarvas to inject over 7 million m3/year of grid‑quality gas with ISCC certification.
Recycling and recovery
PureCycle received a one‑year conditional NJDEP designation recognizing PureFive polypropylene resin as postconsumer recycled content under New Jersey’s law. Johnson Matthey’s PGM report points to stronger secondary recovery, with possible small surpluses in palladium and rhodium.
Bio‑based products
Avantium sold Ray Technology IP for bio‑MEG/MPG to UPM and refocused on FDCA/PEF licensing. BASF Agricultural Solutions started the BioHub fermentation plant in Ludwigshafen to make biological actives and strengthen in‑house supply.
Industrial decarbonization
thyssenkrupp Polysius carved out sustainable process technologies into thyssenkrupp Calvion to accelerate Oxyfuel and CO2‑reduction solutions for energy‑intensive industries. Repsol called for regulation enabling renewable fuels to compete with electricity and highlighted the Tarragona Ecoplanta for 2029.
