Operations expansion
Veolia expanded operations with Australian contracts totaling AUD $700m spanning Central Highlands Water (15-year), Hunter Water (10-year, including Belmont Desalination), and a Seqwater extension adding 2,500 solar panels (2.32 GWh/y). In Chile, it will operate the Aguas Pacífico desalination plant in Valparaíso under a four-year contract, extendable to 2040, delivering 1,000 L/s via a 105 km system using 100% renewable energy.
Veolia financials
Veolia reported a 3.2% revenue increase to €32,323m for the first nine months of 2025, €5,080m EBITDA (5.4% organic), €2.3bn invested in Water Technologies and Hazardous Waste post-divestments, net debt €19,925m (3.0x), and 80% international revenue with outside‑Europe growth nearly 5% YTD (7% in Q3).
Kemira financials
Kemira's Q3 revenue fell 5% to €687.7m; operative EBITDA declined 7% to €137.3m (20.0%), with Water Solutions at 23.1%. For Jan–Sep, revenue decreased 4% to €2,089.9m and EBITDA 9% to €404.6m; lower sales prices, currency effects, and the Oil & Gas divestment affected comparisons. Guidance for 2025 revenue and operative EBITDA was maintained.
Portfolio and R&D
Kemira has finalized the acquisition of Water Engineering, Inc., expanding North American industrial water treatment services and integrating the business into Water Solutions. The company also partnered with CuspAI on PFAS removal material discovery and plans an activated carbon reactivation plant in Helsingborg, targeted for H2 2027.
Leadership update
Tuomas Mäkipeska has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer of Kemira, expected to assume the role by May 2026, following senior finance roles at YIT and Lassila & Tikanoja.
