Scope and purpose

Petrobras will invest up to R$23 million in social projects focused on the collection and commercialization of residual oils and fats (OGR), including used cooking oil, to supply raw material for co-processed products and fuels with renewable content such as SAF with up to 5% renewable content. The initiative targets social inclusion, income generation and environmental benefits by preventing improper disposal that clogs plumbing and contaminates water bodies.

Selected projects must strengthen, structure and train associations, cooperatives and other collectives of recyclable-material collectors and improve logistics, warehouses, PPE, filtering and temporary storage equipment, plus administrative and operational qualification.

Funding, locations and selection

Four projects will be chosen through a public selection near Petrobras refineries and Biocombustíveis plants: three in São Paulo and one in Bahia. The Bahia opportunity covers municipalities including Candeias, Camaçari, Eunápolis, Feira de Santana, Lauro de Freitas, Salvador and others, with investment up to R$5 million. Each São Paulo project may receive up to R$6 million and targets areas around REPLAN (Cosmópolis/Paulínia, optionally Campinas), RPBC (Cubatão/Santos, optionally Guarujá) and REVAP (São José dos Campos/Jacareí, may reach Caçapava).

Timing, eligibility and contract terms

Proposals must be submitted by July 3, 2026, via Petrobras' 2026 Public Selection page; results are expected by the end of the year. Contracts will run 36 months. Eligible applicants are legally constituted private non-profit civil-society entities with experience in waste collection. Proposals addressing cross-cutting themes such as early childhood, innovation or human rights will receive extra points.
