PKN ORLEN Announces Delayed HVO Unit Construction in Plock

Investment Approval

On 27 September 2021, PKN ORLEN's Management Board approved the construction of a Hydrotreated Vegetable Oils (HVO) unit at the Production Plant in Plock, Poland. The project aims to produce 300,000 tonnes of biodiesel or aviation biofuel annually.

Project Cost and Timeline

The total investment is estimated at approximately PLN 600 million (135 million Euro). The completion of the HVO unit and the start of production are planned for mid-2024.

Contract Agreement

The Management Board also approved signing an agreement with Technik Polska Sp. z o.o. for the construction of the HVO unit using the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) formula for ISBL (Inside Battery Limits).

Supervisory Board Approval

The realization of this investment requires the approval of the Company's Supervisory Board, which the Management Board has requested.
