Recent developments
Supply and security
Eni’s gas and condensate discovery in Côte d’Ivoire (Murene South‑1X, CI‑501) indicates up to 5.0 Tcf of gas and 450 million barrels of condensate, the country’s second largest after Baleine. In Central Europe, ORLEN’s largest investment program reports 10 bcm of new gas reserves and deliveries of 700 mcm to Ukraine, targeting 1 bcm by 2026.
Hydrogen and SAF
Technip Energies secured EPCC for SkyNRG’s DSL‑01 SAF facility in the Netherlands, sized at 100,000 t/y via HEFA and integrating an on‑site SMR hydrogen plant. At the corporate level, thyssenkrupp’s Q1 2025/2026 results noted work within Decarbon Technologies on green hydrogen and CO₂ capture alongside group restructuring.
Capture technologies
UBE invested in Immaterial Ltd, advancing densified monolithic MOFs for gas separation and storage. The patented m‑MOF approach targets lower capex and opex for CO₂ capture in hard‑to‑abate sectors, relevant to blue hydrogen, ammonia, and other gas‑intensive processes.
Energy infrastructure shifts
ORLEN’s plan also advances Baltic Power offshore wind, Energa grid connections for 1 GW of renewables, and preparations for a BWRX‑300 SMR in Włocławek, intended to diversify low‑emission supply and support future electrified and gas‑intensive operations in Poland.
