Hystar selects thyssenkrupp for 4.5 GW electrolyser production line engineering

Key highlights
  • Hystar awarded a FEED contract for an automated electrolyser line.
  • The factory in Høvik, Norway, will have a 2,500 m2 footprint.
  • Production capacity will increase from 100 MW.
  • Stack components come from a high-volume supply chain.

Contract Award

Hystar AS has awarded thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) contract for an automated electrolyser manufacturing line at its GW factory in Høvik, Norway. This contract is a key step in Hystar's expansion strategy.

Factory Design and Efficiency

The new production line will enhance efficiency and increase capacity from the current 100 MW. The factory will have a compact footprint of 2,500 m2, which includes stack assembly, quality control, and testing areas.

Supply Chain and Production Scaling

Hystar will utilize an established, high-volume supply chain for stack components, enabling rapid scaling of production capacity. This strategic approach supports Hystar's ability to meet growing demand in the hydrogen industry.
