Hystar to Build 4 GW Factory and Expand to North America

New Electrolyser Factory in Norway

Hystar AS is set to build a fully automated 4 GW electrolyser factory in Høvik, Norway, with construction starting in early 2024 and completion expected by 2025. This factory will significantly expand Hystar's production capabilities to meet the growing demand for green hydrogen technology.

North American Expansion

Hystar is also planning to expand into North America, with a new headquarters to be established in 2024 and a multi-GW factory by 2027. The company is in discussions with stakeholders in the United States and Canada to determine the best location for its first GW factory on the continent.

Production Capacity and Upcoming Deliveries

Currently, Hystar's existing facilities have a production capacity of 50 MW annually. The company is ramping up to meet increasing demand, with the supplier for the Høvik factory's automated production line to be selected later this year. The factory is expected to be fully operational by 2026.

Key Deliveries

Hystar has several key deliveries scheduled, including a 1 MW electrolyser for Norwegian companies Equinor, Yara Clean Ammonia, and Gassco in Q4 2023 for the HyPilot field project in Kårstø, Norway. Additionally, a 5 MW electrolyser will be delivered to Poland's largest private energy company, Polenergia, in Q3 2024 for their H2HubNS project in Nowa Sarzyna, Poland.
