Investment and Enhancements
WeylChem has invested around €7m to inaugurate a new multi-purpose custom manufacturing plant at its Lamotte site in the Hauts-de-France region. This significant investment enhances the site's flexibility and capacity for synthesizing modern, complex, and corrosive molecules. The plant features a high level of automation, including robotic elements, to improve efficiency.
Upgraded Equipment
The project involved a comprehensive overhaul of an existing production line. Key additions include an acid-proof 4m2 Hastelloy filter dryer, a thin-film evaporator, and a 10m3 stainless steel reactor. These upgrades enable the plant to reach temperatures of up to 200°C and a service pressure of up to 8 bars.
Global Initiative
This investment is part of a broader global initiative to enhance WeylChem's multi-purpose setup. The initiative also includes new Halex and ring chlorination plants in Germany. Despite challenges posed by the Covid situation, the project was managed smoothly, strengthening WeylChem's position as a versatile and reliable partner with robust European supply chains.
