- The plant uses sulphur from refinery desulphurisation processes.
- Heat from the process generates steam for electricity production.
Transaction Overview
INEOS Enterprises has finalized the sale of its Sulphur Chemicals business to International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG). This transaction includes the Bilbao production site, which will now operate under the WeylChem Group, a subsidiary of ICIG.
Production Capabilities
The Bilbao plant is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and co-generation capabilities. It produces sulphuric acid in concentrations ranging from 80% to 98%, as well as specialized sulphur chemicals like oleum 20% and molten sulphur. The facility serves a wide range of industries with these products.
Raw Material and Energy Efficiency
The plant sources its sulphur from the desulphurisation processes of refineries. The heat generated during production is utilized to create steam, which is then used to produce electric power, enhancing the site's energy efficiency.
