Saipem has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction (E&C) contract valued at approximately €200 million for the expansion of the Versalis plant in Ferrara, Italy. The project aims to enhance the plant's production capabilities and infrastructure.
Project Scope
The expansion involves the construction of a fourth production line to operate alongside the existing three lines. Additionally, the project will increase the production capacity of the plant and upgrade its auxiliary systems. The enhanced facility will significantly boost the Ferrara site's production capacity of EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber to 130,000 tons per year.
Responsibilities and Timeline
Saipem will oversee project management, detailed engineering, material and component supply, construction, installation, and pre-commissioning activities. The expansion works are scheduled for completion by the second quarter of 2016.
