The new facility will boost sustainable material production, processing 3M tires annually, with reduced CO2 and water use, supported by strategic partners for design and project management.

Discarded tires are chemically recycled into high-quality polycarbonates for automotive parts, promoting circularity and sustainability in the plastics and automotive industries.

The new plant boosts production by 50,000 tonnes/year, adds 45 jobs, and revamps existing facilities. The project, costing over €250M, involved local suppliers and close cooperation with local institutions.

The project adds a fourth production line, boosts capacity to 130,000 tons/year, and upgrades systems. Completion is expected by Q2 2016. Saipem handles project management, engineering, and construction.
