Foster Wheeler Wins Hydrogen Unit Design Contract in Serbia

Project Award

Foster Wheeler Ltd. announced that NIS – Naftagas Promet has awarded Foster Wheeler Italiana S.p.A. the process design package for a new hydrogen production unit at the Pancevo refinery in Serbia. NIS - Naftagas Promet is a subsidiary of NIS - Petroleum Industry of Serbia.

Project Scope

Foster Wheeler will provide a process design package and technical follow-up during the detailed design phase. The new hydrogen unit will use natural gas as feedstock and will have a capacity of 47,000 normal cubic meters per hour (Nm3/h), approximately 30,000 tons per year. The unit will also include pressure swing absorption technology.

Timeline

This phase of the project is scheduled for completion by August 2005. The terms of the award were not disclosed, and the project was included in Foster Wheeler's first-quarter bookings.
