ORLEN Group Q2 2025: Strong Profit Growth

Financial Performance

In Q2 2025, ORLEN Group's LIFO-based EBITDA nearly doubled year-on-year to PLN 9.2 billion, with a net profit of PLN 1.8 billion. Revenue reached PLN 60.7 billion, and operating cash flow was PLN 10.5 billion.

Segment Highlights

The Upstream & Supply segment achieved an EBITDA of PLN 3.5 billion, driven by hydrocarbon production averaging 182 thousand boe per day. The Downstream segment's LIFO-based EBITDA was PLN 2.2 billion, with refineries processing 9.8 million tonnes of crude oil. The Energy segment posted an EBITDA of PLN 2.2 billion, supported by increased gas and electricity distribution. The Consumers & Products segment delivered an EBITDA of PLN 2 billion, with significant growth in the e-mobility market.

Investments and Projects

ORLEN invested nearly PLN 14 billion in strategic growth projects in H1 2025, focusing on energy transition. The offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea is set to supply electricity from next year. The Group is also constructing two new hydrogen plants, funded by PLN 2 billion from Poland's National Recovery Plan.

Energy Security

ORLEN eliminated Russian crude from its supply chain, sourcing feedstock from diverse regions. Contracts with Ukraine's Naftogaz increased natural gas supply volumes. The expansion of the LPG terminal in Szczecin and domestic gas production growth further enhance energy security.

Technological Advancements

ORLEN is pioneering Multifuel technology for energy generation and has introduced Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to reduce emissions. The Group is also deploying AI solutions in collaboration with Microsoft to enhance operations and cybersecurity.
