Project Overview

Grupa Azoty's Polimery Police project in Police, Poland, is nearing completion with over 99% of the construction finished as of January. This strategic project aims to boost Poland's plastics segment and will be the largest propylene and polypropylene plant in Central and Eastern Europe.

Key Milestones

The final phase began with the first propane delivery at the new gas terminal in December 2022. Grupa Azoty Polyolefins S.A. has completed the registration of propane and propylene under EU REACH regulations, allowing the use of these substances in the plant's process units.

Administrative Approvals

Recent administrative decisions include an occupancy permit for the wharf and an integrated permit for the propylene plant using the propane dehydrogenation method and the polypropylene production plant using the gas phase propylene polymerisation method.

Project Details

The project, with a budget of around USD 1.8bn, will feature a propylene dehydrogenation plant and a polypropylene production plant with an annual capacity of up to 437 thousand tonnes. The complex also includes a gas terminal with handling and storage infrastructure and various auxiliary systems.

Pre-Marketing and Testing

A pre-marketing project was launched on the Polypropylene Logistics Platform, with initial polypropylene deliveries helping to evaluate training results and accelerate the operational phase. All acceptance procedures for construction and installation work were completed by the end of January 2023.
