A EUR 400 million investment in Stenungsund adds a 350,000 t/y LDPE plant, enhancing capacity and quality for high voltage and low/medium voltage cable products.

The investment will create 1,000 jobs annually from 2009-2011, focus on diesel production, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance solar energy and petrochemical operations without layoffs.

The new plant at Wesseling will use Spherilene S technology, offering low costs and high efficiency. It will convert an existing Lupotech G plant and start operations in 2008.

The new 175,000 tonne/year PET plant in Schkopau, Germany, started on schedule, increasing total site output to 335,000 tonnes/year, despite claims of a PTA shortage in Europe.

The new plant will produce Versify plastomers and elastomers. A new fiber plant and polyethylene train will start in 2006, creating 90 jobs and producing 300,000 tons annually.
