WeylChem Invests in Allessa Multi-Purpose Plant

Investment in Allessa Site

WeylChem Group of Companies (WCGC) is investing high single-digit million Euros to upgrade a multi-purpose plant at its Allessa site in Frankfurt Fechenheim. This strategic move aims to enhance the Group’s product and technology portfolio, particularly maintaining the halogen exchange (HALEX) technology within Europe. The new plant is expected to be operational in the second half of 2021.

Strategic Repositioning

This investment is part of WCGC’s broader strategy to optimize its product and technology offerings. Following the successful restructuring of its marketing and sales organization under the WeylChem International umbrella, the Group is now focusing on advancing its technological capabilities. The decision to upgrade the Allessa plant is driven by customer demand for HALEX technology within Europe.

Operational Efficiency

The new multi-purpose production unit will transform an existing asset into a state-of-the-art facility with increased capacity and flexibility. By utilizing existing equipment from the former WeylChem Griesheim, the Group aims to minimize time to market and total expenditure. Leveraging over ten years of production experience with HALEX and the latest modern technologies, WeylChem expects to achieve competitive production costs on an international scale.

Implementation of SAP S/4 Hana

In addition to the plant upgrade, WCGC has initiated a significant investment in customer service and management. A multi-disciplinary project team began implementing the new SAP S/4 Hana system across the Group Companies in January. This high-performing integrated system is expected to enhance customer care and strengthen WCGC’s position as a modern and trustworthy partner for its customers.
