New Facility Acquisition
MBA Polymers Inc. acquired a new production site in Mauna near Dresden on July 19th, 2019. The site is managed by the subsidiary MBA Polymers Germany GmbH and marks the company's fifth recycling facility. This plant will utilize MBA Polymers' patented process to produce state-of-the-art post-consumer plastics.
Processing Capacity and Area
Starting January 2020, the Mauna facility will process 17,500 metric tons of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) annually. The site spans 16,000 m², with 5,500 m² allocated for production space. The high-tech plant will extract and process post-consumer plastics such as ABS, HIPS, PP, and PC/ABS from WEEE.
Employment and Expansion
Initially, the facility plans to hire 20 specialists in material flow and quality management. MBA Polymers aims to further expand its production activities in Germany, leveraging the growing quantities of WEEE in Europe and the global demand for post-consumer plastics.
