Agreement Overview
On October 8, in Milan, LLP KazMunayGaz-Aero, a subsidiary of JSC NC KazMunayGas, and NextChem signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on the development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This agreement was part of the international forum “Kazakhstan-Italy” and aims to support the transition to new energy types.
Focus Areas
The collaboration will concentrate on producing environmentally sustainable aviation fuel and low-carbon hydrogen. This will be achieved through carbon dioxide capture and the integration of circular solutions into the production process. Circular solutions involve reusing, recycling, and recovering raw materials to minimize waste and reduce environmental impact.
Technological Contributions
NextChem will leverage its innovative technologies, including NX SAF BIO and NX Circular, to drive sustainable innovation. Additionally, its Waste-to-X solutions, such as NX AdWinHydrogen and NX AdWinMethanol, will play a crucial role in transforming waste into valuable chemical resources.
Strategic Importance
Kazakhstan is recognized as a strategic partner for Italy in the energy sector. The collaboration combines Kazakhstan’s resources with Italian technology and engineering expertise, presenting a unique opportunity to advance the global transition to a sustainable and low-carbon economy.
