IQOXE Invests €10M in New Tarragona Plant

Investment and Inauguration

IQOXE has invested €10 million in a new state-of-the-art plant in La Canonja, Tarragona, which was inaugurated today. This facility is the only one of its kind in the Iberian Peninsula, primarily producing ethylene oxide derivatives used in sterilizing surgical material, as well as in the automotive, cosmetic, and construction sectors.

Production Capacity

The new plant significantly increases production capacity, multiplying it by eight from 3,000 to 45,000 tons per year. It is expected to utilize 20,000 tons of raw material annually. The previous plant, which had a production capacity of 3,000 tons, will now be dedicated to producing high-value-added products for the pharmaceutical industry.

According to CEO José Luis Morlanes, IQOXE is a leader in Europe with a global production of 140,000 tons of ethylene oxide derivatives annually. This new investment and expansion further solidify the company's position in the market.
