Introduction
Futurapet has launched a PET recycling plant in Düzce, Turkey, designed by Herbold Meckesheim. This facility is the largest single-line recycling plant Herbold Meckesheim has built to date.
Production Capacity
The plant recycles six million PET bottles daily, achieving a daily output of 90 tons of PET flakes. This translates to an annual production volume of over 30,000 tons of recyclate.
Technological Advancements
Herbold Meckesheim's modular plant design, with standardized assemblies, facilitated smooth and quick construction. Some modules were scaled up to meet Futurapet's throughput requirements, and a step drying system was integrated into the hot washing process to enhance quality.
Company Background
Futurapet, a spin-off of the Engin Group, was founded in 2020. The company has quickly established itself as a producer of high-quality PET flakes used for films and bottle-to-bottle production.
