Investment and Job Creation
Clariant has opened a new AMPS polymers plant in Tarragona, Spain, following a two-year investment of around EUR 16 million. This project, part of Clariant’s Global Asset Network Optimization (GANO), has resulted in the creation of 32 new jobs at the site.
Advanced Technology and Certification
The plant incorporates the latest process technology, significantly reducing energy consumption compared to previous methods. It is certified to ISO 22716:2007 for cosmetic ingredients.
Production Lines and Applications
The facility features two production lines for the Business Units Industrial & Consumer Specialties (ICS) and Oil & Mining Services (OMS). Products include Hostacerin® and Aristoflex® for cosmetics, and Hostamer® and Hostadrill® for oil and gas drilling.
Product Benefits
Polysulfonates for cosmetics are pre-neutralized and easy to use, enabling stable formulations with excellent yield. AMPS polymers allow for novel formulations with superior skin compatibility and unique rheological profiles.
