ACP to Invest in CO2 Recovery Unit in Odessa

Overview

OPZ, a producer of ammonia, urea, and other chemical products, has storage facilities and a sea terminal for exporting ammonia, urea, and methanol produced by other enterprises. ACP, an operator in the liquid CO2 sector, has reached an agreement with OPZ to invest in a CO2 recovery unit next to the OPZ plant in Odessa, Ukraine.

Investment and Capacity

The total investment for the CO2 recovery unit is estimated to be between 15 to 20 million euros. This unit will recover waste CO2 from OPZ’s ammonia plant, aiming for an annual CO2 capacity of 100,000 tons.

Applications

The recovered CO2 will be used in various industries, including carbonated beverages, the food industry, and transport cooling applications. ACP aims to bring high-quality CO2 to the Ukrainian market, benefiting a range of industries.

Timeline

The operational start-up of the CO2 recovery unit is planned within the next 2 to 4 years, reflecting ACP’s commitment to a positive future in Ukraine.
