Expansion of PVC Production

INOVYN has announced plans to increase general purpose PVC production at its Jemeppe Site in Belgium. The expansion will add 200ktes of capacity to meet growing demand in sectors such as building and construction, electronics, packaging, food protection, water, and energy. The first phase of this expansion is expected to be operational by 2020.

Specialty PVC and VCM Capacity

This new investment is part of an ongoing effort to boost specialty PVC production at Jemeppe, aligning with INOVYN’s broader pan-European growth strategy. Additionally, the site will see an increase in VCM (vinyl chloride monomer) capacity to support these expansions.

Investment and Innovation

By the end of the decade, INOVYN plans to invest around €1 billion across its European assets. These investments will focus on safety, sustainability, and innovation-led projects, including a complete transition from mercury to membrane cellroom production.

Government Support

The announcement was made during a visit to the Jemeppe Site by Willy Borsus, Minister-President of Wallonia, who expressed support for INOVYN’s long-term commitment to innovation and was impressed by the company’s state-of-the-art RT&E Centre at the site.
