Plug Power Inc

About Plug

Plug Power Inc. is a U.S.-based developer and manufacturer of proton-exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzers and hydrogen fuel cell systems. Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Latham, New York, the company designs equipment and turnkey systems for green hydrogen production, liquefaction, storage, transport, and dispensing, alongside fuel cell power modules for mobility and stationary power. It serves industrial, logistics, and energy markets in North America and Europe.

For the chemical and process industries, Plug supplies modular PEM electrolyzer stacks and multi‑megawatt systems for on-site hydrogen generation, as well as cryogenic equipment and hydrogen fueling infrastructure. Through acquisitions including Giner ELX and United Hydrogen (2020), Frames Group and Applied Cryo Technologies (2021), it has built a vertically integrated offering spanning hydrogen production to end use. Its technologies are used to replace grey hydrogen in refining, supply feedstock and fuel for industrial processes, and provide zero‑emission power for material‑handling fleets and backup power.
