Jacobs will provide engineering, procurement, and construction management for a $390M expansion of a Superabsorbent Polymer Plant and new acrylic acid plant in Zwijndrecht, Belgium, completing by Oct 2017.
The investment includes a 100,000 T/Y SAP plant expansion and a new 100,000 T/Y AA plant, enhancing supply stability and increasing global SAP capacity to 710,000 T/Y. Completion by May 2018.
Production capacity for SAP will increase to 175,000 tonnes/year. A new 160,000 tonnes/year acrylic acid plant will support this. New capacities will be available by 2008, driven by long-term supplier agreements.
