Stepan Europe S.A.S., a subsidiary of Stepan Company, has acquired all shares of Alfa Systems Sp. z o.o. from Chemitex Holding Limited and Chemovil Holdings Limited. The acquisition includes Alfa Systems' plant in Brzeg Dolny, Poland.
Plant Capacity
The Brzeg Dolny plant has a production capacity of 25,000 metric tons of polyester polyol and 15,000 metric tons of polyurethane systems. The plant began operations in mid-2009.
Technological Advancements
The plant specializes in manufacturing aromatic polyester polyols using recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) as a raw material. This technology is new to Stepan and will be integrated into their global polyester polyol manufacturing network.
