Factory Overview

Recently, Hungarian mayor of Debrecen, Laszlo Papp, visited the SEMCORP factory under construction in Debrecen. This factory is SEMCORP's first overseas facility for wet lithium-ion battery separator production. The construction is progressing as planned and is expected to be operational by Q1 2023.

Investment and Capacity

With a total investment of 340 million euros, the factory will focus on producing and selling wet lithium-ion battery separators and functional coated diaphragms. The facility will include 4 imported automatic separator assembly lines and over 30 coating lines, aiming for an annual production capacity of 400 million square meters.

Job Creation

The local government has provided strong support for the project, which is expected to create approximately 440 jobs. The factory is currently hiring administrative staff and professional technicians, with plans to hire and train front-line workers in the second half of the year.

Location and Neighbors

Located in the Southern Industrial Park of Debrecen, the SEMCORP factory is situated between the Krones and Vitesco science and technology factories. The area also hosts Deufol and BHS Trans logistics centers, with EcoPro BM and ITK facilities under development.
