Investment and Job Creation

Andrada Group is investing €33 million to open a high-tech recycling plant in Sóskút, Hungary. The facility aims to create 160 new jobs over the next two years, contributing to the green transformation of the automotive and other industries.

Operational Timeline and Expansion

The plant is scheduled to begin operations in late February. Andrada plans to expand its operations to other locations in Hungary and across Europe, starting with Spain.

Recycling Technology and Materials

The facility will focus on recycling green energy storage systems, processing materials such as Aluminium, Copper, and Steel. The recycling process includes mechanical pretreatment, shredding, and electro-mechanical separation to produce components for active cathode material production.

Environmental Standards and Permits

Andrada will initially operate as a low-capacity, non-hazardous metal waste recycling facility. After a successful ramp-up phase, the company will apply for an operational permit, ensuring compliance with EU environmental standards. The plant will have minimal water consumption and adhere to strict emission control and waste management practices.

Location and Technology

Originally planned for Alsózsolca, the plant was relocated to Sóskút for better logistics and size. The facility will use an advanced version of existing mechanical recycling technology, already proven safe and sustainable in Europe.
