Project Overview
A suite of contracts was signed in Milan, attended by General Director of Kazanorgsintez PJSC Farid Minigulov and CEO of Maire Tecnimont Pierroberto Folgiero. The main contract, based on EP (Engineering & Procurement) terms and an open-book concept, outlines the construction of a new LDPE/EVA plant in Kazan, Russia.
Project Specifications
The new plant will have an annual capacity of 100,000 tons. The total estimated value of the EP contract is EUR 130 million. The project is expected to be completed within 40 months after the contract signing.
Involved Parties
The engineering and procurement work will be carried out by subsidiaries of Maire Tecnimont S.p.A.: Tecnimont Planung & Industrieanlagenbau GmbH (Germany) and OOO MT Russiya, the company's Moscow operating center.
Technology and Licensing
The LDPE/EVA project will utilize technology developed by Japanese company Sumitomo Chemical, with a license agreement signed in February 2021.
Previous Collaborations
This is not the first collaboration between Kazanorgsintez PJSC and Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. In April 2021, the companies signed an MOU for the co-development of a new biodegradable polymers facility in the Republic of Tatarstan.
