Project Overview

During the XIV Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona, Rosneft and Maire Tecnimont signed an agreement to implement the "Construction of VGO Hydrocracking Complex" at the Ryazan Refining Company’s (RORC) site. The project encompasses design, equipment supply, construction, start-up, commissioning, and project finance services.

Technological Advancements

The VGO hydrocracking complex aims to increase refining margins by converting dark petroleum products into Class 5 light commercial products such as gasoline, kerosene, and diesel fuel. The complex will feature hydrocracking units, hydrogen units, elemental sulfur production units, and off-site facilities. All equipment will have high environmental performance characteristics.

Efficiency and Environmental Impact

The project will utilize modern, highly efficient technology and equipment with an automated control system to enhance carbon efficiency. This approach aligns with global trends towards more sustainable and environmentally friendly industrial practices.

Investment and Upgrades

Rosneft is executing a significant refinery upgrade program. Since its inception, over 900 billion rubles have been invested, resulting in the construction and reconstruction of 23 major units and refinery complexes. These upgrades have significantly boosted the production of Class 5 gasoline and diesel fuel, meeting domestic market demands.
