Investment and Project Overview
Danone has announced a €70 million investment in its Steenvoorde site in France, aiming to enhance its production capacity for medical nutrition. The project, named "Steenvoorde 2026," was unveiled in the presence of Xavier Bertrand, President of the Hauts-de-France Region, and Danone CEO Antoine de Saint-Affrique.
Production Capacity Expansion
By March 2026, the Steenvoorde site will feature Danone's first medical nutrition production line in France. This facility will produce nearly 20 million liters of oral nutritional supplements, encompassing 30 recipes and 115 references for the NUTRICIA brand. This expansion will complement existing production capabilities in Zoetermeer, Netherlands.
Environmental Impact Reduction
As part of the investment, €10 million will be allocated to install a biomass boiler at the Steenvoorde site. This initiative aims to reduce the site's carbon footprint by nearly 70%, aligning with Danone's broader environmental goals.

The investment is supported by several organizations, including the Banque Publique d'Investissement (BPI), ADEME, the Hauts-de-France Region, and the Community of Communes of Flandre Intérieure. These collaborations underscore the project's significance for both the company and the region.
