Maintenance Schedule
Butachimie, a key production site for intermediates in the nylon 6,6 value chain, will conduct its planned maintenance turnaround at Chalampé, France, from late September to December 2019. This period will be used for preventive maintenance and inspection work to comply with regulatory requirements.
Investment Projects
During the turnaround, Butachimie will implement investment projects aimed at enhancing competitiveness, safety, and environmental performance. The most significant project is the installation of INVISTA’s advanced ADN production technology, a €250M investment by the joint venture partners INVISTA and Solvay.
Technological Advancements
The new ADN technology will improve product yields, reduce energy consumption, lower greenhouse gas emissions, enhance process stability, and reduce capital intensity compared to existing technologies. This upgrade will strengthen Butachimie’s global leadership in ADN production.
Workforce Involvement
More than 2,500 personnel will be on-site to complete the maintenance and retrofit project, ensuring the successful implementation of the new technology and compliance with all regulatory standards.
