Kemira will make a multi-million euro investment to expand production at its Joutseno chlor-alkali site in Finland. The production capacity will be expanded to ensure Kemira’s ability to address the growing need for sodium hydroxide in Finland.

“We invest in the chlor-alkali site production capacity to ensure our ability to effectively serve our customers. The investment continues the previously announced investments in Joutseno site”, says Tommi Kankkunen, VP, Manufacturing, Pulp & Paper segment.

The investment is expected to be operational during the fourth quarter of 2018. Joutseno chlor-alkali site produces sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid, and sodium hypochlorite for pulp and paper and process industries as well as municipal water treatment.
