Inauguration Event

On September 7, Novacap inaugurated its new Di isopropyl Ether (DIPE) production unit at the Roussillon chemical platform. The event was attended by elected representatives, customers, and business partners.

Production Capacity and Process

The new plant has a capacity of approximately 5,000 tons and utilizes an innovative, environmentally-friendly, and energy-efficient process. This development is part of Novacap's strategy to invest in high added-value oxygenated solvents and specialty products.

Applications of DIPE

DIPE is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry as an extractive solvent and in the crystallization process of active pharmaceutical ingredients. It is also employed as a specialty solvent for resins, coatings, and dyes, and has new applications in environmental sectors like wastewater treatment.

Strategic Importance

This project aligns with Novacap's broader strategy to become a leader in chemicals and life sciences, with a particular focus on the pharmaceutical industry markets. The new DIPE unit expands the range of oxygenated solvents produced by the Performance Chemicals Division, which includes Isopropanol, Acetone, and Isopropyl Acetate.
