New Plant for Hydrogenated Hydrocarbon Resins
Rain Carbon Inc. has commissioned detailed engineering for a new plant dedicated to the production of hydrogenated hydrocarbon resins (HHCR). This facility will be capable of producing 20,000 metric tons annually and is expected to begin operations by the end of 2018.
Production Capabilities
The new plant will manufacture a variety of premium hydrogenated resins, primarily for use in the adhesive and marine coatings industries, as well as other industrial applications. This addition will enhance Rain Carbon’s existing portfolio of hydrocarbon resins, which are marketed globally under the NOVARES brand and produced at RÜTGERS’ sites in Duisburg, Germany, and Uithoorn, The Netherlands.
Technological Advancements
According to Uwe Holland, Managing Director of RÜTGERS NOVARES GmbH, the state-of-the-art production expertise and a new first-class technology center will enable Rain Carbon Inc. to supply next-generation hydrocarbon resins. These industrial resins are crucial additives for products such as car rubber, tires, coatings, and adhesives.
Market Demand
The new product line will allow Rain Carbon Inc. to meet the increasing demand for more hygienic and colorless grades of adhesives, known as “water white” resins. This strategic move supports the company’s ongoing efforts to diversify its high-value chemical products portfolio.
