Investment and Capacity Expansion
Arkema has inaugurated a new specialty molecular sieve production facility at its Honfleur plant, representing a €60 million investment. This expansion aims to support growth in the refining and petrochemicals markets, particularly in Asia and the Middle East.
Production and Applications
The new facility will double the capacity for specialty molecular sieves, focusing on aromatics separation in petrochemicals, especially xylene separation. These sieves are crucial for adsorption and dehydration in industrial gases, petrochemical plants, medical oxygen, construction, and pharmaceutical packaging.
Technological Advancements
The project incorporates the best available techniques to optimize effluent recycling and improve ergonomics and working conditions through digital technologies. The new unit also highlights Arkema’s expertise in specialty molecular sieves and strengthens the IFPEN/Axens/Arkema cluster of excellence in France.
Job Creation
The expansion has created 15 direct jobs at the Honfleur site, contributing to local employment and economic growth.
