New Facility in the Netherlands
Solvay is constructing a new manufacturing and filling facility in Linne-Herten, Netherlands, to produce Hydrogen Peroxide grades used for disinfection and decontamination in the pharmaceutical industry. The facility is expected to be completed by July 2015.
Meeting Pharmaceutical Demand
This investment aims to address the growing demand for Solvay's INTEROX®PH grades, used as Active Pharma Ingredients (API), and INTEROX®SG grades, used as decontamination agents. The demand surge is driven by the European Union’s Falsified Medicines Directive, which ensures the safe production and use of medicines.
Compliance with GMP Standards
The new facility will produce these grades in compliance with Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) conditions, a quality assurance standard in the pharmaceutical industry. The Dutch health inspection will provide GMP certification for the site.
Existing Expertise
The Linne-Herten site already manufactures Solvay’s main Peroxides disinfection grades for the European market, including both peracetic acid and hydrogen peroxide. The site has extensive experience in the complex production of purified grades, as well as filling, packaging, and labeling operations ranging from bulk deliveries to 1-liter bottles.
