Project Overview
The Hungarian fertilizer manufacturer Nitrogénmüvek Zrt. is expanding its operations with a new granulation plant in Pétfürdö, located approximately 100 kilometers southwest of Budapest. The plant will have a daily capacity of 1,550 tons of ammonium nitrate (AN) or 1,960 tons of calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN) and is scheduled to start operations in fall 2016.
Roles and Responsibilities
ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions has been awarded the contract for engineering and procurement of the process plant. The installation will be carried out by the customer, Nitrogénmüvek Zrt.
Existing Operations
Nitrogénmüvek Zrt. is the only fertilizer producer in Hungary that manufactures its own ammonium. The company currently operates an ammonium nitrate plant in Pétfürdö and is constructing a second one. Both plants utilize Uhde vacuum neutralisation technology and will supply feedstock for the new AN/CAN granulation plant.
