Project Overview
Fluor Corporation has commenced construction on a new delayed coker unit for ExxonMobil at its Antwerp refinery in Belgium. The project aims to expand the refinery’s production capabilities and officially began with a groundbreaking ceremony in October.
Scope of Work
Fluor’s responsibilities cover the entire project life cycle, including design, engineering, procurement, module fabrication, transportation, installation, and construction. The new delayed coker unit will convert heavy, high-sulfur residual oils into transportation fuel products such as marine gasoil and diesel fuel.
Engineering and Design
Engineering and design work for the project started in June 2014 and is being managed by Fluor’s office in the Netherlands. The project was added to Fluor’s backlog earlier in 2014, although the value remains undisclosed.
