Evonik Launches New PVC Plasticizer Plant

Production Launch

In June 2013, production began for the phthalate-free plasticizer 1,2-Cyclohexa dicarboxylic acid diisononyl ester at the new plant in Marl Chemical Park. The facility has an annual production capacity of 40,000 metric tons, with an investment in the double-digit million euro range.

Future Developments

Evonik is planning to expand its portfolio further by introducing bio-based plasticizers under the ELATURĀ® brand. Negotiations with cooperation partners are in the final stages, indicating imminent product launches.

Research and Development

To support the development of these new plasticizers, Evonik operates a dedicated research and development laboratory at Marl Chemical Park. This facility also provides technical customer service, ensuring continuous innovation and support for clients.
