Sasol O&S ventures into the merchant market for high purity Tri-ethyl Aluminum (TEAL)

Sasol is constructing a purified tri-ethyl aluminum (TEAL) production unit at its Sasol Olefins & Surfactants (O&S) plant in Germany. The facility, expected to be operational in early 2012, will have an initial annual production of 6,000 tons. Sasol is already the world's largest producer of TEAL and this new unit will allow them to further benefit from their existing position in the market. The company has experience with TEAL in the linear alpha-olefins and polymers markets and has signed a cooperation agreement to qualify the application of TEAL in polypropylene production.
