Increased Production Capacity

Teijin Carbon Europe GmbH has boosted the production capacity of its German-produced chopped carbon fiber, Tenax™-E HT C604 6mm, by 40%. This expansion addresses the growing demand from European electronics manufacturers and the increasing need for compounds in medical devices.

Product Quality and Demand

The success of the Tenax™-E HT C604 product is attributed to its high quality, which allows for the production of high-grade compounds with superior mechanical properties and good electrical conductivity. Demand for this product has surged in recent years, necessitating the capacity increase.

Supply Chain Flexibility

Previously, European demand for C604 was partially met by Teijin’s Mishima plant in Japan. With the increased capacity in Germany, Teijin can now respond more flexibly to inquiries within the European market, improving supply chain efficiency.

Global Production

Other types of Tenax™ short fibers, including chopped, pelletized, and milled variants, are produced at facilities in Japan and the US. These fibers are available in various sizings and are used with thermoplastic materials, thermosets, and in water-based processes.
