Recruitment and Facility Details

UBQ Materials is launching a recruitment campaign for 140 employees for its new production facility in Bergen op Zoom, the Netherlands. The factory, which includes a research and development laboratory and an experience center, is currently being commissioned and is expected to be operational later in 2023. A company presentation will be held on March 23 to attract potential employees.

Production Capacity and Environmental Impact

The factory will have an annual production capacity of 80,000 tons of UBQ™, a bio-based thermoplastic made from organic and non-recyclable household waste. This process will require the handling of 104,600 tons of waste annually, equivalent to the household waste produced by a city like Eindhoven. The facility aims to contribute to the region's sustainability goals and the circular economy.

Regional and Economic Impact

Located in a region with numerous plastic production and processing companies, the new factory is expected to transform the area into a hub for clean technology on an industrial scale. The initiative aligns with the region's ambition to lead in the transition to a new economy, focusing on resource management and sustainable material production.

Industry Collaboration

UBQ Materials collaborates with globally recognized companies such as Mercedes Benz, PepsiCo, Anheuser Busch, and McDonald's. By offering climate-positive materials, the company helps reduce the CO2 footprint of supply chains and supports the transition to a circular economy.
