Petrobras P-80 (Búzios 9) Departs Singapore for Búzios Field
- P-80 departed Tuas Boulevard Yard in Singapore en route to the Búzios pre-salt field in the Santos Basin.
- The platform can produce 225,000 barrels of oil per day and process 12 million cubic meters of gas daily.
- P-80 is the first of six serial platforms; P-82 is in final construction and both are scheduled to start production in 2027.
- Process modules were built in Brazil (Seatrium BrasFELS, Angra dos Reis; Seatrium Aracruz for P-82) with additional modules from China, Singapore and Indonesia and final completion in Singapore.
Departure and programme
The P-80 platform left the Tuas Boulevard Yard shipyard in Singapore on 30/9 and is heading to the Búzios field in the pre-salt Santos Basin. P-80 (Búzios 9) is the first of a six-platform series.
Capacity and schedule
P-80 has capacity to produce 225,000 barrels of oil per day and to process 12 million cubic meters of gas per day. P-80 and the next unit in the series, P-82, are expected to begin production in 2027.
Construction approach and technology
Petrobras notes the platform integrates advanced technologies and digital solutions aimed at operational and energy efficiency. The platforms were contracted under an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning) model, where the contractor handles engineering, supplies, construction and commissioning through delivery for operation.
Module fabrication and logistics
Process modules for P-80 were manufactured in Brazil at Seatrium BrasFELS in Angra dos Reis; modules for P-82 were built at Seatrium Aracruz in Espírito Santo. Additional modules were constructed in China, Singapore and Indonesia and then transported to Singapore for final completion.
Field performance and partners
The Búzios field recently set monthly and daily natural gas export records (more than 10 million m³/d monthly and 14.1 million m³/d daily). The field is operated by Petrobras with partners CNOOC, CNPC and Pré-Sal Petróleo S.A. (PPSA).
