New Plant Construction

Perstorp has announced the construction of a new plant in Perstorp, Sweden, to increase the capacity for Pergrip™ Run NF, a Sodium Formate deicer product for runways. The plant is a significant investment aimed at enhancing the availability and security of supply for this deicer.

Partnership and Technology

In collaboration with Dalshult, Perstorp will build the plant to granulate solid Sodium Formate Deicer. The facility will utilize state-of-the-art technology and have a nameplate capacity of 12 kMT per year. Operations are scheduled to commence ahead of the 2019/2020 winter season.

Environmental Impact

Pergrip™ Run NF is known for its high performance and reduced environmental impact, featuring the lowest carbon footprint among comparable deicers and a low chemical oxygen demand (COD). This minimizes stress on runoff wastewater, reducing water contamination and the need for extensive water treatment.

Operational Efficiency

The new plant will streamline Perstorp's operations by eliminating the need to source granulates from multiple-purpose compactors. This integration from Formate production to granulation will enhance service levels for customers and support the use of Formate as an environmentally preferable deicer in non-runway applications.
