New Plant in Oberhausen
To meet rising demand, Oxea is constructing a new world-scale production plant for carboxylic acids in Oberhausen, Germany. This will be the sixth unit in Oxea’s global production network and is expected to be operational by the end of 2021.
Increased Production Capacity
The new plant will double the current production capacity for isononanoic acid and increase Oxea’s total production capacity for carboxylic acids by more than 30 percent. This expansion aims to improve the supply situation for isononanoic acid and enhance the flexibility of Oxea’s production platforms.
Strategic Location
Oberhausen was chosen after an extensive site selection process due to its advantages in speed of construction and integration into the existing production network. The new plant is a key part of Oxea's growth strategy, and the company plans to continue improving and debottlenecking its manufacturing processes in 2020 and 2021.
Support for Asian Market
To support the growth and agility of the Asian market, Oxea will establish a dedicated logistics hub in Asia. This move is expected to further enhance the company’s ability to serve its customers in the region.
Applications of Carboxylic Acids
Carboxylic acids produced by Oxea are used in the production of synthetic lubricants and as building blocks for the animal feed industry, highlighting their importance in various industrial applications.
