Expansion Overview

OQ Chemicals has expanded its production capacity for TCD Alcohol DM at its Oberhausen, Germany site. The new capacity is now operational, and the company has begun supplying customers and distributors with the increased volume.

Project Execution

The expansion was completed during a planned maintenance shutdown in the fourth quarter of 2021. This allowed OQ Chemicals to rebuild process units and expand storage capacity, ensuring the project was finished on time and without accidents, despite the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic.

Market Impact

The increased capacity is expected to meet the global market growth for TCD Alcohol DM for years to come. This expansion enhances product availability and supply reliability for customers worldwide.

Applications of TCD Alcohol DM

TCD Alcohol DM is used in exterior coatings to provide hardness, scratch resistance, and good adhesion to materials like steel, aluminum, and glass. In adhesives and coatings for electronic applications and 3D printing materials, it offers high resistance to temperatures, aging, and weathering, as well as mechanical stability and low water vapor permeability. Additionally, in optical materials, it ensures UV transmission, resistance to yellowing, and high Abbé numbers.
