Messer Expands in Western Europe with New Gases Plant in Spain

New Plant in Vila-seca

Messer is constructing a new production plant for industrial gases in Vila-seca, located in the south of the Tarragona Chemical Complex in Spain. The plant will have a capacity of 2,400 tons of oxygen, nitrogen, and argon per day and will be certified for the production of medical gases.

Investment and Timeline

The family-run company is investing over 35 million euros in the new plant. The commissioning of the plant is scheduled for December 2021.

Supply and Employment

The new plant will be connected to Messer's pipeline network to meet the growing demand for oxygen and nitrogen in the Tarragona chemical industry. Additionally, it will supply manufacturing companies in the region with liquefied and gaseous gases. During the planning and construction phase, around 200 people will be involved in the project, and upon completion, the plant will employ more than 20 people.
